Why did we build this product and who is it for?

The LinkBadger exists because the internet is the life of your business. Nearly all of us who run a small or medium-sized business need the internet for just about everything we do - phones, credit card terminals, accessing web portals, and uploading documents. We use servers, VPNs, remote desktops, and teleconferencing in our daily routines to make money in our businesses. And if the internet should fail, we're out of business until the provider can fix the issue. The link badger is for anyone that has ever wanted a solution that could give them a backup if there's an outage.

How does the LinkBadger work?

The LinkBadger is a cloud-powered service aggregator - it slips between your router and your internet provider's modems. It then aggregates your connections into a single virtual link and routes your traffic seamlessly through our cloud. If one of your internet providers malfunctions or goes offline, the LinkBadger keeps you going on the remaining links. If you are running a zoom meeting or taking credit card payments, you won't even notice the outage. LinkBadger keeps the virtual link as long as one of your providers is still online.

What scenarios is the LinkBadger designed for?

Small and large retail: Imagine if you had a store filled with customers and the internet went out. Now you can only accept cash payments because the credit card processing system relies on the internet. How many of your customers see a note that says “cash only” and just walk out of line?

Businesses with teleworkers: If your staff works remote and needs access to company resources via VPN or remote desktop, you can't afford to have an internet outage, productivity would be crushed. With the LinkBadger on site, your staff can reach the company's servers and systems via our static IP assigned via our cloud, which stays available if any of your internet circuits are still up.

Rural locations: If you are on the edge of DSL service and only have slow and unreliable secondary alternatives, the LinkBadger will shine for you. Your remote site can seamlessly stay connected to the internet with far greater reliability because LinkBadger can shutdown faulty links with minimal downtime and keep you going without having to plug and unplug whichever internet service is working at your site.

On-premise servers that need more uptime: If you run a server in-house and only have one internet connection, you know how hard it is to keep it online for your clients. With the LinkBadger, you can connect your server to multiple internet connections and utilize our static cloud IP to always be able to reach it.

Businesses that need a single static IP but move around: If your setup relies on a static public IP, but your set up and tear down from multiple locations, the link badger is for you - with our cloud IP you can plug the LinkBadger into any internet connection anywhere and always have the same static IP address available for your use.

Is the LinkBadger easy to use?

The LinkBadger does not replace your router or firewall. If you have a favorite brand, you connect it behind the LinkBadger and all traffic from our statically assigned cloud IP is forwarded to your device. You keep all the same firewall rules, all the same settings. When an internet service you are using goes offline, you don't have to do anything to take advantage of the failover to the remaining services - LinkBadger is completely seamless and invisible to your router if one of your services isn't working right.

Is the LinkBadger a managed device? Do I have to ask you to open ports or get permission to do certain actions?

We manage the LinkBadger via our cloud network only in the sense that we tell it which of your internet services it should use. Beyond that, the device is invisible to the end users. If you open a port on your firewall and scan it from the cloud IP, you'll find it open. You continue to maintain and administer your preferred devices as you always do, you never need to ask for our support staff to perform any tasks for you.
